ospf limitation on cisco router.

hi..

I heard that the limitation of ospf on cisco was in there. for example, the number of area, and the max number of ospf process per device.

I has knew that ospf in cisco can configure up to 32 ospf process, Is it right?

and more in the ospf limitation , please tell me about it. Thank you.

Hi Sung,

The OSPF limitation is the amount of memory and cpu power of the router. It is because the nature of OSPF, where an route update will cause the all OSPF routers to recalculate the cost with the Dijkstra's algorithm, and it is very CPU intensive.
