Hi,

I dont understand what do you mean by "Fax tone when dialed by a PSTN phone"

Do you want the Fax/Modem connections to work from the remote office?

Or is it a BRI > PSTN Dial-Up connectivity from the Remote office to the Branch Office.

Which exact BRI card you got ?

hello sir,

i got one port WIC 1B S/T CARD(ISDN BRI S/T).

That card cannot be used with nm-30dm.

Only NM 4 and 8 BRI can be used.

https://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps274/product_data_sheet09186a0080091b98.html

if i use 30digital modem,it will not support dialup.reply me sir.

It will if you use the cards mentioned above.

nm 4,nm8 bri card

or all the dital modems(i.e nm 30,etc)

i referred ur link but i have some doubts

pls reply me

but ur is very helpful

thans in advance.

Either nm 4 or 8 BRI ports will work.

The document linked is very clear.

Please try to be fair in giving rating, as "3" is really not appropriate for a 100% correct and definitive information like the one I gave you.

sir,

we r using this isdn bri connection as a dialup which this connection we have configured a local pool in cisco routers

for example(10.10.1.25 to 10.10.1.45)

totally 20 ips.

remote end users will dial this isdn bri number by analog dialup modem(normal pstn line) which those users will get any ip from this local pool then they will access our networks(for example like any servers)

this is the concept of isdn bri as a dialup

when we try that bri no we should get fax tone not engaged tone.

i'm positively sure the fax tone here means modem tone.

the way pstn modem dial to isdn port works is when bri interface receive and detect a call from analog source it will pick from a modem pool to answer, hence a modem tone happening here.

you already been advised that the bri card you have would not support the modem module. NM 4 and 8 BRI will do what you need.

thank u very much my problem has been solved my getting fax tone(modem tone).

im using nm 8 PORT BRI CARD.
