AP1522 with WLC 2106

Unanswered Question
Aug 7th, 2009

I want to know how to join the AP1522 to a WLC 2106.

The Controller and the AP are in the network, but the AP can't be joined to the controller. What is missing?

I have this problem too.

Did you add the mac address of the 1522 to the mac filter list on the controller?

Upgrading the software version to '4.2.x.x M' would solve the issue.

First of all make sure that the APs can communicate and get IP address from DHCP server (it might be an external DHCP or internal pool running on WLC).

Are your APs on the same subnet as controller?

Yes, the AP and controller are in the same subnet. The AP got the address from a external DHCP.

The error that the controller gave me is like follow:

LWAPP-3-DECODE_ERR: Error decoding discovery request from AP.
