Does 3G service provider for WRP400 matter?

Hi,

I am considering to buy a Cisco WRP 400 and use its 3G access capabilities. I could also get one of the compatible Huawei USB modems from our 3G service provider. I am wondering if there is any risk that it will not work if the 3G service provider is different from the one given in the compatibility list? Or using a compatible modem is sufficient enough as a guarantee that it will work?

Unfortunately there is no guarantee that it will work if not the exact model. If you do try it and it works, please post to the community so that others can benefit from your experience.

I can confirm that the device works successfully with a 3g service directly from optus however a 3g service from a optus reseller does not work and this is running the latest firmware the status keeps changing between connecting and disconnected.
