Getting from Unity 4.0(4) to version 7.0

We have one Unity 4.0(4) server running Windows 2000 Server, connected to our Exchange 2003 server in a Windows 2003 R2 domain. I ordered and received a new Unity 7.0 server. Can I "migrate" the 4.0(4) Unity installation to the new server directly, or do I have to conduct a phased migration with upgrades to 4.0(4) to achieve this? I am bogged down in that vast amount of documentation that is on the Cisco site and need a little bit of a process roadmap. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Upgrading Cisco Unity 4.x Software to the Shipping 5.x Version

Due yo your version you cannot just install 7.X on the new server and migrate, you would need to install restore 4.0(4) and then upgrade the system.

If you were using 4.0(5) you could use COBRAS

The other option is upgrade to 4.0(5) and then use COBRAS

Which is the safest bet? If I go to 4.0(5) on the old server, then COBRAS can move everything I need to the 7.x on the new server, correct? Thats seems logical enough, but I always get concerned when trying to upgrade older Cisco stuff to slightly newer stuff. I will read through and see if the (4) to (5) looks easy enough.

Thanks
