Hi ,

My Core switches and few other network devices stopped responding suddenly. I am getting alert of syslog server disk threshold is reached.

Any my all Network Devices are logging to this syslog server. Is the non-responsiveness of switches is related to disk full of syslog server ?

Hi Satish,

The status of the syslog server should not affect the switch function. The default setting of syslog is UDP which the switch is not waiting for any acknowledgment from the syslog server.

HTH,

jerry

Thanks that was quite helpful..

Is the switch actually unresponsive, or is the monitoring station (which is out of disk) just complaining that it can't see anything?

Tools reporting that everything is down means that either everything is down... or the tool is down.
