Hello,

I work at my home and connect to my employer's internal network via en employer supplied Cisco VPN Client Version 4.8.02.0010 (see below).

I am considering replacing by Linksys BEFSR81 router with a Cisco RV082 WAN Router.  I am trying to confirm that this version of the VPN Client is compatible with the RV082.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

If you are asking, an you pass a VPN tunnel from the LAN side to the WAN side of a RV042.  The answer is yes.

My only concern is why do you want to buy the RV042 for that home application.

Are you going to have a dual WAN connection to two different Internet service providers at your home office?

If you are asking can your work VPN client terminate on the RV042 the answer, as far as i am concerned the answer is no.

The RV042 can terminate the QuickVPN client (IPSec based) as seen below  and it also has a PPTP server built into the unit.

Hope it answers your question
