Cisco 7925G phone using eap-tls - Certificate Renewal

Unanswered Question
Aug 12th, 2009

Hi all,

Microsoft clients use auto-enrollment for windows and laptops.

There is (I beleive) no such thing for Cisco IP phones currently.

If we put the certs on the phones manually, is there a way that the phone can indicate to the CA when the cert is about to expire?

or

Could we use CUCM to utilise and perform this funtion.

There has to be some sort of automated cert managment for IP phones, say we were to have 1000 of them?

Any ideas please?

Many thx indeed,

Ken

I have this problem too.

You can use CUCM to utilise and perform this funtion. In order to work on IP phones it needs a firmware and that firmware will get loaded either from a call manager or a call manager express so this ctl certificate and all has to be loaded based on the phone firmware. Like 7960 firmware will not suite for 7925.
