fxo crackling

So I have a 2621 with a vic2-fxs and a vic-fxo-m1 (or something like that) in it, doing h.323 to a CallManager 7.1(2) system. I'm noticiting that every few days when you make/recieve calls to the pstn via the fxo port that all the calls are crackling and you can't understand what the other person is saying. If I move the pstn connection to the 2nd port of the fxo it will work fine for a couple days then it too starts having the same problem. If I reboot the router, things are fine again for a few days and then starts acting up again. Any ideas what could be going on here?

Which exact IOS do you have on the router ?

IOS (tm) C2600 Software (C2600-IS-M), Version 12.3(26)

IIRC that is the latest that can be loaded on a non-XM 2600.

You should start looking at a new GW, as chances are your issue doesn't really have a solution.

Of course if you could also get a digital interface like BRI or PRI, you would also have much better services and more features.
