Take your own risk in taking CCNA (640-802) exam after two failure I deeply see that their test format really has problem.

Here is my complaint to Cisco that they are yet to reply.

Quote:

**************

Certificates Support/Manager,

I failed the 2nd times for CCNA single paper test 2 days ago (640-802) taken in Sydney under Pearson Vue test center. The complaint I am forwarding is pointing to the format or style of the exam. There are two very serious mistakes in the design of the format or structure that led to failure consequence as following:

1. One cannot either skip or return to the question if one has been thinking too long and want to leave it later for review. 640-802 I was taking twice and failed does not have this "review" option.

(This has been confirmed by staff at Pearson Vue in Sydney Centre I was taking the test.)

2. There is no question number in each question but only timer to count down to zero; only the total number of tests shown somewhere in the user acceptance page. That is not enough for candidates. Why? because without question number one is unable to predict and workout the best strategy to move on with respect to time left vs number of questions remain. I myself put an analogy to this as "one could not see the light in the other end of the tunnel. I am just keep walking in the dark."

If question number is clearly shown, I will predict "correctly" how long I should put in the rest of the test by dividing the total time left by the number of questions left to project the best time to move on. Your exam doesn't have question number shown means disastrous to time management.

That is the cause of my first and second exams failure despite I gained 200 more scores better than the first time and the failure is due to your format design mistake.

I dare to say I'll never retake CCNA 640-802 again should this problem not readdressed to and resolved by Cisco or I'll even pass to all my IT friends I know about not to take this test if no action is to be taken by Cisco.

I am here also formally request to recheck my test results for this. Not just a report of performance in each section of the exam that isn't correctly reflected how many questions I had done Pls kindly proceed for me.

Candidate name: Claude YU

Candidate ID: 214125504

Cisco ID: CSCO11599100

Lastly, I am formally request for refund for the my two exams I had been taking so far due to your serious design mistake.

Please reply in your earliest convenient.

Thanks

Claude YU

There is nothing to fear from the 640-802 exam. I took the cert on the 15th of august and I was told how many questions I was gonna get, incedently was 44. And I had question number identifiers. The exam has a tutorial at the begining to tell you what to expect. If you study hard and prepare well you will not have a problem passing;))) The Cisco CCNA is still the gold standard of foundation learning for the network professional, it's importance on your C.V is priceless;)

Good Luck;)

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your opinion.

There is something I had expected for but wasn't. The two main concernss contributing to my failure I admitted that: one is no "review" option for me to check and go back after attempting all questions, another is really no question number identifier I swear. These will bring very bad time management for someone who must be very fast to take the test.

I was taking this exam twice and met the same old problem. I guess the format of the test I did isn't the same the one you took in the US. The test center administrator agreed with my concerned she did find out the problems.

As I said I will not take that test again it is too risky. I feel very negative about Cisco exam I agree the way I feel that they were making it just for money.

Regards,

Claude

Claude i used the timer and the question numbers to time my exam down to the minute. i was actually taking my last question with 45 seconds left. Honestly fella, if you really believe you can pass this exam, watch the tutorial on the exam software at the begining or there is even one on this website. Matter of face i felt the 640-802 exam was easier than i thought it was gonna be. I know you must feel sick at just having paid all that money and got no outcome, but i bet there is people out there that have failed and bounced back to make very fine Network specialists;)

Bill once and once again I persist to say the problem out there was there wasn't question number identifier in the test I did I simply kept doing doing doing... without sense of time management. That made me failed. I knew there came people failed seven times to pass CCNA hopefully not me. But I say I won't take the test again (very risky)until Cisco has fixed up my concerns.

Hi,

the format of the (640-802) is the same as all other cisco exams, from the CCENT to the CCIE.

If you click 'Next', you can't go back. there is no way to go back to answer questions you left behind unanswered.

As far as getting a refund from failed exams twice, I seriously doubt it.

If you already knew the "issue" on the 1st time, why did you go back?

The (640-802) is designed for people that have experience or have been ccna certified before. For 'Noobs' cisco devided the CCNA in 2, CCENT(the basics) and the ICND2.Together they add to the CCNA.All the exams have the questions presented in a randomized fashion, not in the sequence that is presented in the books.

I was a noob and I took the 640-802 exam, i think its a matter of if you feel you can pass in one sitting??
