Cisco UCS - Syslog /Trap vs Event Subcription

Cisco UCS allows for clients to subscribe for XML based events that can be used to receive configuration change information over http/https. Is the same/similar information available via Syslog messages or SNMP traps from UCS? If not, what information is available via the Syslog messages or Trap notifications ? Also is the Syslog or Snmp trap functionality supported in the Cisco UCSM simulators ?

You can set SNMP traps to monitor fans, power supplies, and temperature settings, or to test a call home application. Use the following commands to set SNMP traps:

test pfmtest-SNMP-trap fan

test pfmtest-SNMP-trap power supply

test pfmtest-SNMP-trap temp-sensor
