Unable to delete menus in 6500

Dear Friends,

I have configured some menu commands on a 6500 running 12.2(18)SXH33a and SUp720-3B.

However, if i want to delete the menu, it does not delete it.

Even if i say no menu <opsmenu>, it does not delete it. The command is accepted but the

menu is still there when you say sh run.

If i try it on another 6500 with ver 12.2(18)SXF, it works fine.

It also works fine on a 7609.

Has anyone come across this issue?

Thanks a lot

Gautam

Hello Gautam,

as you can guess you are probably hitting a bug.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/release/notes/ol_14271.html#wp4613826

I tried to look at bug toolkit but I didn't find a match.

you may open a TAC service request and get their feedback on this.

Otherwise you need to use a procedure like password recovery to have the device to boot without reading the configuration during a maintanance window.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
