SSH or Telnet access to Digital Media Player 4400G

Hi,

would like to know, if anyone can advice if it is possible to access the DMP box using either SSH or Telnet.

I am able to connect to the DMP box via SSH, but wasn't sure which username/password to login (have tried all the username/password available).

Kindly advice.

boonchin,

CLI access to the Cisco DMPs is for Cisco TAC Troubleshooting. The CLI should only be accessed when needed when troubleshooting issues.

May I ask, for what purpose would you like to access the DMP's CLI?

The password is actually set via the DMP Device Manager GUI under the "Management Services" Settings. The Field in "TAC Account".

i have two 4400G DMP one of them was out of use after a firmware update,

i tried to re-patch by the 5.1 firmware but no way, the DMP still hoocks on start up

Then i cloned the Compactflash off the one working on the other one and it worked
but when i tried to manage the Cloned DMP i noticed that the Mac Adress becames
the same for the two devices.

Then is there a way to re-write the original mac adress on the repaired DMP

I have the same need to SSH into the DMP. My security team wants to scan the box first before they will alllow it to reach the internet (past our internal firewall). So what's the danged "TAC Account"?
