4900M & 10Gbps X-2

Hi,

I need to connect a few systems at 10Gbps to a CISCO 4900M.

The base 4900M unit has 8 X2 connections built-in.

Am I right in saying if I use a 10Gbps-CX4 network card, I need to purchase a X2-10GB-CX4 tranceiver module for each network card?

Is there an alternative / recommended 10Gbps network card that can be used to connect directly to the onboard X2 connections without a tranceiver module?

Yes, you need purchase transceiver module for each 10G link and you have to use transceiver module.
