LACP config on 3560G switch

need help on configuring LACP on switch. Currently the config is as follows

switchport access vlanx

switch mode access

channel-group 5 mode active

I want to make sure if this config is correct and if there is anything missing. Please advice.

Hello Anand,

this configuration is correct if you want to build a L2 bundle that carries only vlan X traffic.

Be aware that if other side doesn't send LACP frames the switch will disable member ports after some seconds.

So configure it after the server is ready (if there is a server on other side)

What are you connecting to this port? a multiple NIC server?

You need to make sure the other device speaks 802.3ad as well in order for the etherchannel to be negotiated.

What kind of Cisco switch is where you are configuring this? Sometimes is important to verify that the modules (if any) have the same queuing characteristics and such.

As I said I have configured this on 3560 cisco switch, also this is one of the requirement for our VM Ware project.
