Conference calling to an external keeps dropping

Hi,

Recently we have discovered that conferncing of an external number keeps dropping that particular call. Conferencing internally is fine however the external calls keeps getting disconnected.

It is an h323 gateway. If you want I can send the sh run configs.

Any ideas?

Probably codec issues, if you're using SW CFB it only handles G711.

H323 by default uses G729 unless configured to do otherwise.

Can you guide me as to what has to done on the h323 gateway?

I created a voice class as follows:

voice class codec 2

codec preference 1 g711ulaw

codec preference 2 g729r8

codec preference 3 g729br8

What next ?

add the voice class codec on the voip dial peers

I already added it to the voip dial peer that I have see below:

7000 for auto-attendant

172.21.0.2- Call Manager

dial-peer voice 9990 voip

destination-pattern 7000

voice-class codec 2

session target ipv4:172.21.0.2

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

no vad

Am I missing another voip dial-peer?

I have no idea of your dial plan or call flow, so...

hi,

Did u find out what the problem is ?

Am facing the same problem...Can you pls explain me what you did to fix this pls.

shiv

just an input fellow trini :). are the calls being disconnected immedaitely or are they proceeding and then dropping after a while...if its the latter then it may not be codec but as Jaime was indicating we will need a little more to go on to find the exact cause of the issue. Of course dont post anything ip addressing etc that you think would be a security issue

Thanks for your reply..

Its a Codec problem and the issue has been resolved :)

many thanks

shiv

i have this issue pls hlp
