WVC210 Active X issue

Does anyone have an updated Active X drive for IE 8? I was able to change the security setting on some of the computers who access the WVC210 so that I could load the Active X driver (which is out of date). It would be a lot simpler if Cisco update the date in the active X driver. Does anyone know when Cisco will update the software for the WVC210 so that you will not have to lower the security level to get the active X driver to load?

Thanks for any help.

Johnny,

Here is the quickest way to fix your issue. Go to this link

http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/Redirect.x?mdfid=280249565

(requires a cisco login)

and choose

-physical security

--- Video Surveillance IP Cameras

------- Cisco Small Business Video Surveillance Cameras (Linksys Business Series)

then choose the camera model you have.

Once you select your camera, select the option to download the firmware. Then choose the latest firmware version. On the right side of the screen, there will be two files available for download. Choose the OCX zip file. Once you download the zip file, extract or run the application and complete the installation wizard.

The latest firmware version 1.1.0 includes an updated ActiveX component with updated certificate.  The manual OCX update is no longer required.  Just update the camera firmware to the latest version and the ActiveX issue will go away.
