Nexus 5000 and 2000 QoS question

According to the config guide:

"Note: Type qos policies can be activated only on Cisco Nexus 5000 Series interfaces and Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extender interfaces. Type qos policies on Fabric Extender fabric interfaces or Fabric Extender fabric EtherChannel interfaces are ineffective, though the Cisco NX-OS CLI does not reject the configuration.

We recommend that you do not configure type qos policy-maps on Fabric Extender fabric interfaces or Fabric Extender fabric EtherChannel interfaces to avoid wasting hardware resources."

This statement seemed a bit confusing to me. Is this just saying not to configure type qos policies on fex trunk interfaces on the 5k, but it is OK to configure a type qos policy on the actual host interface on the 2k itself.

Or does this meant any port on the 2k should not have a type qos policy applied to it?

It says that you should not configure type qos policy-maps on the N5K interfaces that are connected to Fabric Extenders. These interfaces are called fabric interfaces.
