Cisco stance of term frequency regarding SBE

What does Cisco consider a frequent occurrence of SBE on 12000 line cards?

Below module did have one recurring log

but month apart.

FRU: Linecard/Module: 4OC48E/POS-SR-SC=

Processor Memory: MEM-LC4E-512=

Packet Memory: MEM-LC4E-PKT-512=

SLOT 7:Jul 28 03:35:50.948 PDT: %RX192-6-ERRINTR: status = 0x2000000, mask = 0x7EFFFFFF - Parity error on rx_adj_mem.

SLOT 7:Aug 26 23:24:01.776 PDT: %RX192-6-ERRINTR: status = 0x2000000, mask = 0x7EFFFFFF - Parity error on rx_adj_mem.

SLOT 7:Aug 26 23:24:01.776 PDT: %RX192-6-ADJ_MEM_SOFT: phy addr 0x79558740, offset 0xAB0E8, old ecc 0x0, new ecc 0x29, bit 34, value 0x400000000 - Detected and Corrected Adjacency Memory Parity Error..

SBEs are corrected by the Error Correction Circuit and do not affect functionality of the line card. No action is required for single-bit errors, unless they occur frequently. In this case, it is advisable to replace the line card

I have this problem too.

Hello Jim,

if I've understood the frequency is one a mounth.

For the moment you can afford this if the frequency of events increases open a request to change the linecard.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
