backup.pl vs. common services scheduled backup

Hi,

I need to perform an LMS 3.1 migration, and the first step is to perform a backup using the following command:

NMSROOT\bin\perl NMSROOT\bin\backup.pl backupdirectory

Since I already perform backups using the ciscoworks backup scheduler in Common Services, I was wondering if the backp used by the common services scheduler is the same as the backup.pl manual backup.

Yes, it is. If you're absolutely sure you have a good backup, you can run the LMS 3.1 installer as:

setup.exe nobackup

That will skip the backup step. Then, you can restore your known good backup once LMS 3.1 is installed.

I plan to use the backup I already have to do a remote migration on a test machine.
