Unity 5.x Unified Messanging

We are running Unity 5.x and are intergrated with Exchange. We have 1 user who does not want to get voicemails in his email. I changed the class of service for this person so that they are Voice Messaging not Unified Messaging but the email keeps showing up. Am I missing something?

In a UM environment, all users are UM by default. To make this user VM only, you would need to:

1. Delete the subscriber account in Unity

2. Add a new AD account such as "user-VM"

3. Import this user into Unity

Hope this helps.

William,

This is because the users in Unity are tied to accounts that exist in AD. If you imported the user's account in which they login to their pc everyday, its tied to their mailbox as well. The only way to stop this behavior is for you to import a completely new user which has an entirely different Exchange mailbox. Unity still needs a mailbox to deliver to, but it won't be the one that the user actually has Outlook pointed to. Make sense?
