I have an 871W router with an IP phone. The phone is a NEC. The router is configured to establish a VPN to a PIX515e. From my understanding the tunnel is on demand. I have been having problems with inbound outbound calls. Is there a way to configure the VPN tunnel to always be up? I know this will take more processing power but I only have one IP phone.

You can setup a lan-to-lan vpn between PIX and 871W router. you can find a lot config example in the following page.

Thanks for replying to my post. Link seems to be broken. Do you have the doc id or name?

It's just a link to CCO PIX configuration example page. You can go www.cisco.com and search "Pix Configuration Examples and TechNotes". The first one should be it.
