RRM Channel Assignments

I currently have RRM set to "On Demand" for channel assignments. I'm curious if anyone knows how a newly installed AP selects it's channel assignment after joining the WLC with RRM set to "On Demand" (without manually invoking a channel update). Does the AP randomly select a channel or use a factory default? Or does it actually select the best channel based other RF in the area since it's a new AP joining the WLC?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Assuming you are using DCA channels, the APs will communicate with each other & the controller to determine channel assignment (automatic enabled)

What version of code are you running?

I am on 6.0.182.0 and under DCA, I see the following options for DCA:

automatic

freeze

off

I see an "on demand" option under TX power level control
