Can Unity notify an IP phone on a remote site that is in SRST mode?
Cheers

This notification is done by the SRST router...
Once the link is down, Unity will not be able to reach the ip phone

Hi Rich,
Just to add a note to the tips from my friend Andrei (+5 points Andrei). You will probably find this doc interesting;
Integrating Cisco Unity with Cisco Unified CME-as-SRST
Hope this helps!

Hi Rob,
I took a look in your doc...
In it, the Unity is in the remote site... is it possible to have the Unity in the main office and do the same ?
I'm thinking of this because I could have the Unified Messaging with MSExchange in the main office..
when the link comes up, I could check the voicemail in the MSOutlook..
Thanks.
Andrei.

Hi Rob/Andrei,
Thanks for doc Rob. My situation is same as Andrei-Unity is on main site. I know I can configure phones to dial Unitys full external number but how does Unity notify remote site phones of a message when SRST mode? Is it possible?

Hey Rich,
I'm very sorry I completely mis-read your original question :(
Note: Message waiting indicator (MWI) integration is not supported for PSTN access to voice-mail systems at central locations.

How about using a Unity Express in the router... during the SRST mode, Unity Express could receive the calls, store messages and I think MWI is supported...
Is it possible ?
Thanks.
Andrei.

Thought so Rob :( Thanks for confirmation.
CUE:
I believe so but how would you retrieve messages if WAN came back up? Does CUE push messages to Unity when network is restored?
