hi! we are autonomous AP 1242AG IOS(12.4(10b)JDA operating at 802.11A for Wireless 7925G IP phones. It's working fine with authentication type PEAP (using Cisco ACS) and WEP as encryption.

On 7925G phones, there is setting for authentication (LEAP, WEP, PEAP, etc..) but no setting for encryption method.

when I change from WEP to AES on AP

encryption vlan 4 mode wep mandatory

-->

encryption vlan 4 mode cipher AES-ccm

phones can no longer connect to AP

1. does it mean using PEAP also force us to use WEP?

2. is there any valid combination of authentication and encryption methods? or authentication is independent of encryption method?
