Cisco 3825 bandwidth upgrade

Hi,

Do i only need a Cisco 1-Port Fast Ethernet HWIC if i want to add additional interface? i'll be using it for a 10Mbps bandwidth and do away with existing smart serial.

". . . only need . . .", no you could use other Ethernet modules that work in the 3800 series. The HWIC Ethernet should appear as another routable Ethernet port; Ethernet modules ports are generally routable via VLANs.

Another option might be to trunk out one of your existing on-board Ethernet ports to a VLAN capable switch and route between defined subinterfaces.
