extending PBX digital phone to remote office

I would like to connect remote office user to our PBX system over VPN connection.

I was looking into 2800 series routers to do that, but I am not sure what kind of card will I need for that. Can I connect our digital pbx phone directly to the router-s voice interface? Do I need some other type of device ?

What kind of digital PBX phones? You cannot do what you are describing with Cisco, but I have boxes that can extend Avaya, Nortel, NEC phones over IP.
