Hi

I have 2 routers and 2 switches and just practicing on it

R1

R2

SW1

SW2

R1 is connected to R2 thru a serial connection back to back cable

R1 has SW1 on it ethernet port

R2 had SW2 on it ethernet port

R1 E0/0 is up and up

SW1 FA0/1 is up and up

same with R2 and SWI2

My problem is R1 Cannot ping SW1 management ip address 1.1.1.2 and the same case is with R2 to SW2

There is connectivity between the serial interfaces and i can ping them

I have attached the Sh run output of the four devices

Please help

I see the problem between R2 and SW2. The VLAN interface on SW2 is shutdown. This prevents any IP traffic to and from the switch management interface.

I am not sure what the problem is with R1 and SW1. It would be helpful if you would post the output of show ip interface brief from the router and also post the output of show cdp neighbor from the router.
