Could be a issue with hardware(flash)? Is that possible to replace that alone?

Can you load the helper (load_helper command) after the flash_init and try the dir after again

you will have this information in my first post. Yes, I tried with

switch: load_helper

Still have the same result.

So the command flash_init was already entered and you said it says the same thing for load_helper.

How about if you power cycle the switch and try it again from the order mentioned previously?

1. flash_init

2. load_helper

After the power cycle and the above steps, gives same status.

switch: flash_init

switch: dir flash

The switch went defective, RMA will be the way to go.

in rommon, type i and enter

then type dir flash:

You will be prompted to Iinitialize flash simm, reply 'Y'

After that, you can xmodem.

Had to do

copy Xmodem:image_name flash:new image _name

At the same time I ran send file from the hyper terminal with the new image_name.

and it's working, Thanks for everyones help....
