I posted this on whirlpool but was just chasing some confirmation.
I am looking at the above hardware and I want to power 11 Cisco SLM2005 5 Port switches. The documentation says that it can supply 12 POE ports at 7.5w, now the question is is 7.5w enough to power a SLM2005?
I have looked through cisco's website and it doesn't state the power requirements. The closest information I get is from the User Guide which states that it supports IEEE 802.3af but that allows 1-12w.
Does anyone have any experience in setting up the SLM224P and using POE.
Cheers
Dale

Hi Dale,
I plugged an SLM2005 into an SGE2010P. It showed a draw of 3100-3300 miliwatts. This fits within class 1, 0.44 - 3.84 watts. 11*3.84=42.24. The SLM224P will meet your needs. The left half of this switch is PSE as indicated on page seven of the Admin Guide.
Hope this helps,
Christopher

Thanks very much for your response.
Nothing beats being able to get the equipment, plug it and test it.
