Hi
I have CME 7 configured at a site and have the following problem
When you place a call from an IPT handset it takes ages to forward the call out the ISDN BRI.
If i do a debug isdn q931 and dial an external number from the phone it takes around 6 seconds to register on the gateway.
does anyone know what the setting is to speed up this process?
thanks
Rod

Hello,
Try changing the destination patterns on your dial-peers to something more specific. The "T" in the destination pattern signals the router to wait for the interdigit timeout before forwarding the call. In your dial-peers, change the destination patterns to something like the following:
dial-peer voice 1 pots
translation-profile outgoing nuvia
destination-pattern 9........ (each "." signifies a digit, so configure to match the amount of digits you are trying to forward)
incoming called-number .
direct-inward-dial
port 0/1/0
Hope that helped, if so please rate.

Thanks for everyone's help.
The 9T destination pattern was the cause of my troubles.
Thanks again.

Hello,
Without looking at your config, I would say that its safe to say that the router is waiting for the interdigit timeout before forwarding the call to the BRI. You may want to configure more explicit dial-peers as opposed to a generic dial-peer.
