MGX 8830/B with 2811 routers

Hi,

I have two MGX8830/B with PXM1E. VISM-PR-8E1 and MPSM-8T1E1 exist in the MGX with backcard RJ48-8E1 each.

I have two 2811 routers with AIM-ATM and one E1 card each.

Now i want to connect both these MGX in a manner given below.

R1 <-> MGX <-> MGX <-> R2

1. Routers and MGX should be connected via ATM over E1.

2. How to connect two MGX. (between MPSM or Between VISM).

pl suggest.

Hello Raijv,

the question is to find out if you need to use different types of cards for MGX switch to MGX switch links.

the following link points to MGX configuration guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/switches/wan/mgx/mgx_8850/software/mgx_r4/pxm1/configuration/guide/prep4red.html

or

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/wan/mgx/mgx_8850/software/mgx_r4/pxm1/configuration/guide/prep4red.html

Hope to help

Giuseppe

hi Giuseppe,

thanks for the docs.

Actually, what i need is the configurations. I want to connect MPSM in MGX1 to MPSM in MGX2. also the configurations for connecting VISM to VISM.

1. MPSM(MGX1) <--> MPSM(MGX2)

2. VISM(MGX1) <--> VISM(MGX2)

cheers,

Rajiv

Hello Rajiv,

I wish I could help you on this.

I had only limited exposure to BPX and MGX several years ago.

The command line interface is quite different from IOS.

Follow the configuration guide at the link I've provided.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
