I have a question about BGP and Weight

If we have two uplinks and learn the below routes (uplink1 has weight 100 and uplink2 has weight 50) uplink1 weight 100 uplink2 weight 50

which uplink will be best for destination I know the higher weight is preferred but how bout smaller subnet in this scenario?

I have this problem too.

Uplink2 will be preferred for destination - it has the longest mask.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

any solution to force traffic to go uplink1? it means WEIGHT has higher preferences than longest mask

Choices are:

1) Have Link1 send you a /24

2) Have Link2 send you a /20 instead of /24

3) Filter routes from Link2

In order to perform BGP traffic engineering, routes must be the same and a /24 via one link vs a /20 via another link aren't the same.
