I need create class-map in the Cisco Switch 2950, but I dont can create it. I upgrade the IOS. The Ios running in the Switch is the following:

IOS (tm) C2950 Software (C2950-I6Q4L2-M), Version 12.1(22)EA13, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

BOOT path-list: flash:/c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA13.bin

I read the paper :

Catalyst 2950 and Catalyst 2955 Switch Software Configuration Guide, 12.1(22)EA2

But the version 12.1(22)Ea2 is available ??

Thanks

Hi Ricardo,

You should be fine with your existing IOS version. Here is the configuration guide for this:

It depends on what model of 2950 it is , if its a standard code box or enterprise box . If standard box then QOS may have limited availibilty . To define QOS parameters you must have the EI code which is model dependent. All code is the same for these boxes but the code has enough intelligence to know what box it is being loaded on , if your 2950 is not an EI box then class maps may not be available. A show version will tell you if it's a EI or standard box.

That is my output show version:

I can upgrade IOS to Enhanced Image or the hardware do not support the Enhanced Image?

Thanks

Check the Image requirements on the download page.

You may have or have not access to advanced / enhanced images as it depends on your support contracts.

I upgrade the IOS with this file : c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13.bin

And the Standard Image is enabled in the Switch ... :(

.

As I said before it is platform dependent and yours is running standard version so it cannot be upgraded.

The basic 2950-24 is an Standard Image (SI) only switch. Some of the Gig uplink ports, such as the 2950G, supports Enhanced Image (EI).
