PoE on forty-eight 10/100 ports supplies up to 7.5W per port, or on twenty-four 10/100 ports supplies up to IEEE 802.3af maximum of 15.4W per port

Hi Leolaohoo,
Thanks for your info.
what I don't understand is that if I connect a 7970 IP phone the switch can power it, but 7940/7960 can not be powered on.
7970 required 10.25 W, 7940/7960 just required 6.3 W but they are not powered.
that's my doubt..why???

How many PoE ports are using PoE and what's their total consumption? Maybe there is an over-subscription somewhere? Have you put your 7940/7960 into a different PoE switch?

Hi Leolahoo,
I'm just connecting 3 ip phone (7911,7940, 7960) and I have also connected the IP phone 7940/7960
in other linksys switch and they are powered on without problem.
regards,
