verizon custoPAK lines and uc520

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if FXO ports support custoPAK phone lines from Verizon.

A customer has such lines with all features turned off (they are centrex lines).

Is it possible that such a line if not configured correctly can cause damage

to DSPs onboard? The customer had 3 RMAs so far (not all for the

same reason though).

Does the uc520 need to be configured specially to handle these lines?

Supposedly they are simple centrex lines. I was told by verizon the customer

should not configure the FXO for a "ground start" line but for a "loop start" line.

Can you even change such setting via the CCA? Would it cause outsiders

to sporadically observe "all lines busy" when calling the customer, even if the lines aren't

used at all? what else could cause such sporadic behavior?

Last, can features such as call waiting, caller id and and anonymous-call-rejection

influence whether uc520 works correctly with custoPAK lines (in other words do they need

to keep them off, or can they turn them back on for those lines?)

Thanks very much,

I would think Centrex lines with features would be more expensive that POTS so wouldnt connect them.  Also working around the access code Centrex wants may be non standard for the UC500.

But we support both Ground and Loop start (Loop is the default).  Adjustable in CCA.

Make sure Tip and Ring wiring is correct from the C.O. to the FXO.  Check one port at a time and see (we have had cases where they dont always ring when reversed).

I am not sure what happens if you set for ground and operate a loop or visa versa?
