Guys,
My 2600 is no longer connecting to the ISP or internet.
I cannot see the dialer device working during startup off the router. Is there a way I can see the dialer and ask it to try again?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Michael,
I guess you have a PPPoX internet connection.
to check what is happening:
shut the physical interface
example
int atm0/0
shut
terminan monitor
debug ppp negotiation
debug ppp authentication
! re-enable the link
int atm0/0
no shut
! try to access the internet
collect all debug info in a file.
undebug all
to remove debug actvity
If you need further help there is an option to attach files to posts.
post txt files
Hope to help

Hello Giuseppe,
How to do collect debug information?

Hello Michael,
in your telnet client software you should have an option to log the session you can use combined with terminal monitor to have debug output sent to your telnet/SSH session.
for example you can use freeware Putty
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
after you open the session do change properties -> logging
logging printable output only
choice a name for the file and browse if you want to change dir.
then press apply
at the end go back to logging and set logging turned out completely
Hope to help

Hello Giuseppe,
I'm using Hyperterminal with the console port.
I've switched on the debugging as advised above and then pinged 4.2.2.2 but it does not show anything over than the ping output.

Hello Michael,
as I've explained in my first post to see PPP negotiation we need to restart the physical interface with a shut/no shut cycle.
before doing this you can use
sh users
to see if there is line for the PPP session.
also in the sh interface of the physical intercface if you read LCP open IPCP open this would be good news.
debug dialer could be helpful during ping attempt.
You need to understand at what point there is a failure:
check the PPP session status
if it is not OK use the shut/no shut to see PPP negotiation.

Hi, take no offense but it seems to me it would be better if you would involve a network professional in this.
