I have a fax connected to the FXS port 0 on UC520. Calls can be routed to that extension and are picked up by fax. But when I try to dial out from the fax, I press 91<area_code><7_digit_number> I can hear an annoucment from the telco company saying that 7 digit dialing is no longer allowed. The call, of course, does not go through. This makes me think that whatever dialing plan is assigned to this port only passes on 7 digits of the number that I dial, most likely drops the area code. Other, user extension, have no such problem and their standard dialing plan seems to work just fine.
Where/how do I change the dialing plan for an FXS port? Thanks for any help.
Not that I have seen it this way, but your problem might be on the fax machine and what it is sending out. Try using an analog phone and make a call and see if you get the same behavior. If you need to put it back...
