OK so I've been trying to come up with the best way to do this for quite some time now.
I have two independent networks; an MPEG/IP network that I administer as well as the local network which my IT department administers. These two networks are completely separate from one another physically but I would like to be able to configure a single port on the MPEG/IP network and connect it to the local network so I am able to administer the MPEG/IP network from the local network. Currently I have to move my PC and physically connect into the MPEG/IP network to administer it. The local network is on a completely different subnet as well.
What is the best way to do this? I don't want my MPEG/IP network to see spanning tree changes from the local network and I don't want the unicast/multicast data from the MPEG/IP network to spill onto the local network. All I need the port on the MPEG/IP network to do, is allow administration of the switch cluster.
Thanks for your help.
