SPA932 BLF for SPA922/942 phones?

Answered Question
Sep 23rd, 2009

Trying to build a brand new setup of spa9000, spa400, spa962+spa932. We got spa921 and spa941 and was told that blf and cp doesn't work on 921 and 941 phones. I'm getting solid orange on the SPA932 for the spa921 and spa941 phones. Some resources say that SPA9X2 support blf.

I would like to know if I can configure blf+cp+sd on SPA932 for spa922 and spa942 phones?

Is there any way to configure blf and cp, or atleast blf, on SPA921 and SPA941 phones?

Thanks for all your help.

I have this problem too.

Hi amdc42970,

Correct. BLF and CP do not work with the SPA9x1 phones because they do not support CTI.

Yes, you can configure BLF, CP, and SD on the SPA932/SPA962 for SPA9x2 phones.

There is no way to configure BLF and/or CP on SPA9x1 phones.

Patrick

Thanks Patrick.

I'm very frustrated on why this information is not clearly documented anywhere. Cisco should explicitly mention this

on all their pages for SPA9x1 phones. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of phones, which doesn't serve my purpose.

Just to clarify, does this mean I will be unable to use my 962 with the 9K to perform BLF on a free line button on the 962 to check the status of a line on a 941?

Hi donwbpa3donwdbpa3,

Your statement is accurate. The SPA941 does not support CTI and therefore cannot appropriately notify of any status changes.

Dear Patrick

I have SPA932 (speed dial and busy line monitor) connected to IPPhone SPA962 with new firmware 6.1.3a,after I set password on SPA962 I can not make call from SPA962 Extensions this is OK and good, but I still can make calls from SPA932 although I set the password on SPA962,how can I prevent SPA932 to make call from it with password in SPA962.
