How to upgrade NME-WAE-502 WAAS software?

I have a NME-WAE-502 in a 2800 router. The NME is running WAAS software 4.0.13 (build b23 Sep 25 2007). All the other WAE appliances and CM are running 4.1.1c build 16.

Is it a problem when CM is 4.1.1.c while NME is 4.0.13?

I like to upgrade the NME to 4.1.1c as well, but couldn't find anywhere anything about how to do it. Couldn't even find a file name for NME-WAE from Cisco download site.

Has anyone done it before? I really like to hear your advice.

Thanks a lot

Did you set this up? All software is downloaded from the Cisco Download software section. Do you have the correct CCO login? the filename for the NME's usually look something like WAAS-4.1.X.XX-K9.bin and can be depolyed from your CM.

The binary file installed on the NME is the same file installed on the appliances. The commands are the same as well.

Upgrading the WAAS Software

In case you need to reimage the NME, you will need to review the following link.

Using the Cisco WAAS Software Recovery CD-ROM

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v411/configuration/guide/maint.html#wp1105207

look for "To reinstall the system software on an NME-WAE network module installed in a Cisco access router, follow these steps: "

For general information about the NME-WAE-xxx modules, review the following link:

HTH,

Thanks a lot Dan. I was not sure if NME uses the same WAAS software as appliances. Sometimes router modules have its own image files.

Thanks again.
