ASA Missed Command

hi everybody

I am new on the Cisco Security field, and i got a problem with an ASA that i have, thats the new one ASA 5520, i upgrade the IOS to 8.2 and its boot up, so some command is missed like ip address, and other usefull commands, can somebody let me know what wrong with that?

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you post what you are seeing in the console output?

ciscoasa# show ver | in Version

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.2(1)

Device Manager Version 5.2(4)

when i try to config the interface ip address:

ciscoasa(config)# interface gigabitEthernet 0/0

ciscoasa(config-if)# ip addr

ciscoasa(config-if)# ip addr ?

ERROR: % Unrecognized command

ciscoasa(config-if)# ip addr

ciscoasa(config-if)# nameif ?

ERROR: % Unrecognized command

ciscoasa(config-if)# nameif

I need to know why doenst appear that command?

Try creating a VLAN and then assign the physical interface to a VLAN-

ciscoasa(config)# vlan 5

ciscoasa(config-if)# nameif inside

ciscoasa(config-if)# ip address 192.168.1.254 255.255.255.0

exit

ciscoasa(config)# int gi0/0

ciscoasa(config-if)# switchport access vlan 5
