I just wish to ask how to update the signature files of the IPS (SSM) module attached to the ASA. Also, do these signature files include the antivirus signatures?
On the Cisco ASA, you can either run anti-x services (Via CSC module) or IPS servers at the same time, both cannot be combined.
The AIP-SSM does not offer anti-virus functionality. There are multiple ways to upgrade the signatures (CLI,GUI,Auto-update etc.). You need a valid license to install signature updates.
