Hi, I'm using 2960G switch, when i connect FO single mode cable, it is not showing link LED though the other end is connected with device, could please advise what could be the problem?

Cisco switches do have by default Gig negotiation turned on. If the remote end is not running negotiating, then link will remain up on 2960G side.

CAn you check if remote end runs gig autoneg ? if not can you try to turn it on (best option). otherwise you can disable on catalyst end using (no speed nonegotiate on the interface)

Hi,

Remote end is not an autoneg.

Please confirm the following,

1. Any configuration is required for Catalyst 2960G switch?

2. Uplink port P/No.CN8ID42AAA is used in this switch, do i need to use any other uplink port?

3.Is soft enable required for uplink port?

4. Other ethernet port is communicating well.
