Port-Channel using fibre ports???

Hi

I am trying to create a port-channel between a cisco CGESM blade switch using 2 fibre spf modules, and a cisco 4507R WS-X4418-GB module.

I am unable to get the port channel to go active when I use 2 ports on the same WS-X4418-GB (and I have tried several different gbics, ports and fibre cables). I am however able to get the port channel active when I split the 2 interfaces of the port channel over 2 X4418 modules (i.e one port on each card used on the 4500 side)

Is this the correct behaviour, or am I missing something? I have had a collegue verify my config, which is minimal and he can see nothing wrong.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

brian

Hello Brian,

putting the two member links on two different linecards is good practice.

However, you should be able to setup the bundle also using ports in the same linecard as well.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
