Hi,

I am trying to find best & least expensive way of connecting one of the sites with our corporate HQ for the purpose of data transfer via FTP. the file size would be around 500MB.

Our HQ is having an MPLS cloud connection. but this remote site doesnt have any MPLS link except for an internet connection.HQ is in central Asia & site is in North America. Due to this the latency is also quite high.

options-

1)have a mpls connection for the remote site to our MPLS cloud thru the provider. But this will involve addiditional costs which higher ups want to avoid.

2)Put a ipsec VPN tunnel between these two.

with option2, will the file transfer be atleast at okay enough speeds as compared to transfer via raw internet link(which is slow).

Please advice.

Thanks!

Everyone is doing VPN since some years already.

It has become the de facto standard for corporate networking.

But you have to upgrade to a fast link first, else speed will be the same.
