VPN clients works with XP, not Vista

Hi,

I'm a contractor whose clients use Cisco hardware. I'm using VPN client version 5.0.04.0300.

The client works great on my XP SP3 machines, but is really troublesome (I'm being diplomatic here) on my Vista SP2 box.

I finally got the box to connect by reordering the Adapters and Bindings, but the connection can't "see" anything. That is, I can't Remote Desktop to my client's machines, or access SQL Server, etc.

I've unclicked IP v6 too.

And when the VPN connects on the Vista machine I lose internet connectivity to firefox, outlook, etc.

Is there a top secret setting I'm missing? Is there a newer version of the client that is more vista tolerant?

Thanks for your time.

Bruce

Bruce, since you indicate that RA vpn on XP works fine connecting to far end clients VPN server I assume when connecting with XP you can access all client sql resources as well as internet, if this is correct then issue could lie either in your vista or vpn client software, start by using the latest VPN client software which is version 5.0.05.0290 .
