Question About Guest-Mode and SSID Broadcasting.

I've been playing with this new Cisco Aironet 1252 Access Point and it's pretty cool.

My question to you guys is, when I set up an ssid and enable my dot11 radio 0 interface, I go to view my wireless networks in Windows XP and the SSID I have configured doesn't show up until I enable Guest-Mode.

Once I enable Guest-Mode, I can see the SSID being broadcasted and when I disable Guest-Mode, I can no longer see it.

I read over some Cisco documents that say you can only enable guest-mode for ONE SSID.

What happens when you have multiple SSIDs setup on an AP and want them all to be broadcasted? Is this wrong? Can anyone help clarify the purpose of Guest-Mode?

Not true. You can have several SSIDs broadcasting on an access point. You just need to enable multiple BSSID.

Look at the GUI, you will see it on the SSID cofig under security.

You can do that by enabling mbssid

you need to enable it under your dot11 radio interface

(config-if)# mbssid

Then enabled mbssid guest-mode under the ssids you want

mbssid guest-mode
