Unanswered Question

I configured a VSS system, VSL is running and i connot see any problem. Only issue i cannot explain is that console of standby system is not inactive.

I would expect that it says :

Standby console disabled.

I have seen this before on other VSS systems. Any ideas ?

There is a CLI config you can apply on the active to enable standby console.

it is in redundancy main cpu mode :

standby console enable :

SW(config)#redundancy

SW(config-red)#main-cpu

SW(config-r-mc)#standby console enable

but this is hidden not visible in running config but you can disable it using :

SW(config-r-mc)#no standby console enable

However it

Hi Roland,

Thanks for your reply.

I did not know that this command is hidden.

I thought as long as

standby console enable is not

set in the red. config mode it

cannot work.

What is the default of this setting after the system comes

up, and what happens after a reload when i enabled standby console ?
