Anyone know of a way to log the link status for the PC switchport on a phone? I would like to be able to see the date/time that a PC was disconnected from the phone.

Hello Brandon, I havent seen any logs on the phone itself, but on your Communications Manager you can obtain the IP address of your phone and then login with a web browser: http://192.168.x.x and press Console Logs.
Then click on the highest log file that starts with /FS/cache/logxx
In the file you should see when it comes up: 07:35:10 PAE: link-1: DOWN-->UP
And when it goes down: 15:46:36 PAE: link-1: UP-->DOWN
Also when calls start: 08:35:18.066057 DSP: ====== A phone call starts ....
It seems to update this file every hour so it might take a bit until you see the actual logs come in the last file.

Andreas,
Thanks for the info. I did see those logs. However, I don't see them on a 7940, which is really what I'm interested in. Any other ideas?
Brandon
